Fireforge Crafted Beer Wins Gold at 2025 World Beer Championships

Fireforge Brewers Brian and Mason cheers two award-winning beers

Fireforge Crafted Beer has earned two gold medals in the 2025 World Beer Championships® (WBC), for a total of five gold medals received by the brewery in the global competition since 2023.

Founded in 1994 by the Beverage Testing Institute (BevTest) as the first international beer competition in the United States, the WBC sees hundreds of submissions from talented brewers around the world each year. Using a blind tasting methodology, an expert industry panel evaluates beers in 125 different categories and awards rankings on a 100-point rating scale.

Fireforge snagged gold medals for Best Baltic Porter and Best Flavored Ale with both beers receiving an “exceptional” distinction by scoring over 90 in BevTest’s rating system.

The Fixer, a 7.2% ABV Baltic Porter, scored an impressive 94 in the world-renowned competition. Brewed with a kiss of cherrywood smoked malt, this complex brew features Southeastern-grown Carolina Malt House’s Carolina Vienna and Malted Oats, along with Riverbend Malt House’s Double-Kilned Munich Malt, offering malty dark caramel, chocolate and pipe tobacco-like flavors with a smooth finish.

Perlin’s Ghost Pepper Pale Ale, a Fireforge fan favorite with notes of cracked pepper, citrus, and malt, scored a 91. Brewed with Carolina Gold 2-row & Riverbend Crystal 50 regional malts, as well as Cascade, Chinook & Amarillo hops, this 5.8% ABV hoppy pale ale features fresh, locally-grown ghost peppers for a slow burn.

Having our passionately-crafted brews continue to be recognized globally for their taste and quality by BevTest’s beer industry experts is an honor and reflects our commitment to an exceptional experience for guests visiting us in downtown Greenville, SC!
